Amb Adebola thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his tenacity, Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede, EFCC Chairman and other Nigerian agencies for their collaborative efforts in championing transparency and accountability. This progress reflects a determined national resolve to overcome past challenges and chart a new course toward integrity in public service.

“Nigeria’s steady climb in the Corruption Perceptions Index attests to President Tinubu’s commitment to transparency. We are not where we want to be yet, but we are certainly moving in the right direction. Adebola added.

The 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index, released on Tuesday by Transparency International, ranks countries based on perceived levels of public sector corruption, drawing on data from esteemed sources such as the World Bank and the World Economic Forum. While 32 countries have significantly improved their standings since 2012, a staggering 148 have either stagnated or regressed.

Nigeria’s upward trajectory, though still in progress, marks a crucial shift away from its previous low point, signalling hope for a more transparent and accountable future for the nation.
