A Social Ethics expert at Boston University, Professor Nimi Wariboko, has
revealed that the ongoing crackdown on undocumented immigrants in the
United States has sparked significant fear among Nigerians living in
America under Donald Trump’s administration.
Speaking virtually from the US during a televised programme, Professor
Wariboko described the tense mood in the Nigerian community in the US
following President Trump’s return to office.
He highlighted that many immigrants were living in constant anxiety, with
some even going into hiding.
Professor Wariboko also expressed frustration on behalf of undocumented
Nigerian immigrants, accusing their fellow Nigerians back home of lacking
compassion toward their plight.
President Trump, who began his second term in office on 20 th of last month
January 20, 2025, has vowed to carry out mass deportations of "criminal
aliens" who entered the US illegally.
