The former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has apologized to Nigerians over failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to achieve its promises since taking over power.

The former governor tendered his apology during a session with newsmen on Thursday evening.

“We must apologize to the Nigerian people. We have not succeeded in achieving everything we promised to Nigerian people,” Fayemi said.

The APC chieftain added that the inability to achieve their promises is not because of incompetence, “but because there were other structural impediments that have made things more difficult.”

“Clearly we haven’t done enough to make life abundant for the Nigerian people. And for that, I clearly would not hesitate to apologize to the Nigerian people for that. We can do a lot more,” he said.

The APC took over power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 with the change mantra, promising to end corruption, insecurity, and improve the economy.
