Ikimi, who chairs the committee, announced that the panel convened recently to consider five petitions, some of which targeted prominent figures in the National Working Committee (NWC).

In line with its mandate under Section 57(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), the committee reviewed the petitions and noted that the first set involved key NWC members. However, in a bid to support ongoing reconciliation efforts led by the Governors’ Forum and the Board of Trustees, the committee decided to step down three of these petitions.

The second set of petitions concerns former Governor Ortom and 10 others, as well as the petition against Senator Anyanwu. The committee resolved to invite the affected individuals to appear before it on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja.

Those summoned include the petitioners, their witnesses, and the affected party members, who are expected to present their own witnesses. Notices have been issued to all parties involved.

The committee emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline within the party and restoring its integrity. It also urged anyone with genuine grievances against any party member to follow the proper channels and take advantage of the committee’s processes.

When contacted, Ortom, through his Media Adviser Mr. Nathaniel Ikyur, confirmed he had not yet received the letter of invitation. He stated:

“I’ve not received any invitation. When I receive it, I will honor it. I cannot act based on posts on social media. There are people who should also appear.”
