A group within the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the “Osun West Crusaders,” staged a peaceful protest at the party secretariat in Osogbo on Tuesday.

The group presented a letter requesting that the party’s ticket for the 2026 governorship election be zoned to Osun West.

They argued that this would foster inclusivity, provide a strategic advantage in securing electoral victory, and correct the imbalance in the state’s political landscape.

The group’s coordinator, Abdul Afar Blessing, emphasized that prioritizing a party candidate from Osun West would strengthen the party’s chances of reclaiming power from the PDP-led government in the state.

The group expressed confidence that choosing a candidate from Osun West would guarantee the party’s electoral victory in 2026.

“Zoning the ticket to Osun West would not only foster inclusivity but also provide a strategic advantage in securing electoral victory.

“The sole means to dislodge this government and restore Osun State to the trajectory of progress and development lies in ensuring our party presents a formidable candidate from Osun West—if Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola is not in the fray,” the statement added.
