Muhammad takes over from AIG Shehu Umar Nadada, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.

The announcement was made on Friday in a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel.

According to the statement, CP Muhammad hails from Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State and holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical and Health Education from the University of Maiduguri.

Having joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), CP Muhammad has amassed extensive experience in various capacities.

His previous roles include Acting Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, in Zone 8 Lokoja and Gombe State Command.

In his first address as Commissioner, Muhammad called for the cooperation of residents in Nasarawa State to provide actionable intelligence that would aid the police in tackling crime.
