A 40-year-old man and a 42-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of rape and are in police custody.

The victim, 19, reported being approached by two unknown individuals near the fish and chip shop Harry Ramsdens in Old Steine at about 3.30am on December 21.

He was raped in Steine Lane, around a four-minute walk away, shortly afterwards.

The teen managed to get help from a passer-by who phoned the police.

Specialist officers are continuing to support him as the investigation continues.
