Oyo Councilors Forum Inaugurates New Executive Members

Councilors from 351 wards across the 33 Local Government areas of the Pace Setter state gathered at Ibadan North-East Local Government Hall on Wednesday, to witness the maiden inauguration and presentation of certificate of appointment.

The National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, has inaugurated its executive members.

Councilors from 351 wards across the 33 Local Government areas of the Pace Setter state gathered at Ibadan North-East Local Government Hall on Wednesday, to witness the maiden inauguration and presentation of certificate of appointment.

In his remark, Chairman, Association of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo state, Honourable Sikiru Sanda, charged members of the forum to establish good and harmonious relationship with their various LG chairmen and other stakeholders for the benefit of the people and development of their localities.

While commending the cooperation of the forum for the inauguration he described as laudable concept, Honourable Sanda, assured them of the forum of LG chairmen’s readiness to accede to yearnings that could bring development to the various Local Government areas.

The Egbeda Local Government Chairman, who revealed that work is ongoing tirelessly on the furniture allowance for members of the forum and benefits for their betterment, announced a token of five hundred thousand naira from the LG chairmen association as a financial support for the forum’s inauguration.

Also speaking, Chairman, Ibadan South-East Local Government, Honourable Emmanuel Alawode, enjoined Chairman of the forum to always carry along members of the executive in decision making for the progress of the forum and development of their localities.

Contributing, Chairman, Local Government Pension board, Honourable Akeem Ige, pledged adequate support for the forum to thrive.

Speaking with newsmen, Leader of the legislative house, Ibadan South-East LGA, cum Chairman, National Councilors Forum of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Honourable Ayodeji Oladapo, expressed readiness to build on legacy of Governor Seyi Makinde, and appealed for approval of the requests that will make the forum effective.

He added that if members of the forum follow the lay down procedure, it will ensure that dividends of democracy get to the people at the grassroots.

While the Majority Leader, Saki West LG, who emerged as the Public Relations Officer of the forum, Honourable Alhaji Salaudeen Adebayo, promised that the executive will ensure that the forum reciprocate Oyo State House of Assembly in delivering constituency projects across the wards.

Honourable Abdulmojeed Igbalajobi, led steering committee, appointed three months ago, coordinated the election that gave birth to the inaugurated executive members of the forum.

National Secretary of the forum, Honourable Fasasi Quadri were among dignitaries that honoured the event.

The Executive led by Honourable Ayodeji Oladapo, include Vice Chairman, Honourable Fatai Olojede, Secretary, Akinade David Adeyemo, PRO 1, Alhaji Adebayo AbdulKabir, Financial Secretary, Osi Sunday Abiodun, Treasurer, Olusola Ibitoye and Welfare 1, Baraka Fakayode.

Others are Organizing Secretary 1, Bimbo Oluwaseyi Adeyemi, Welfare 2, Olabanji Bashir Oloyede, PRO 2, Ojo Shuaib, Financial Secretary 2, Habib Alayande, Organizing Secretary 2, Oyeyinka Yusuf Ajala, Assistant Secretary 2, Sulaiman Azeez and Auditor, Kayode James.
