The call followed the official announcement of the election results by the Chairman of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, Charles Ejiogu, who declared the ruling APC as the winner of the exercise in the 27 area councils and 305 wards in the state.

Chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Isiala Mbano LGA, Sharon Chidiebere Ohaka and her counterpart for Ikeduru LGA, Princess Uzogo called for the cancellation of the results while addressing journalists in Owerri.

The duo pointed out that elections did not hold in Isiala Mbano and Ikeduru LGAs, maintaining that there was no ISIEC staff or election materials in sight at the polling units.

They called on the state electoral commission to fix a new date for election in those area councils as soon as possible.

“We dissociate ourselves from any figure or result from those areas as no person can lay claim on where election did not hold.

“Voting materials did not get at any polling booth in the areas, no voters register was displayed and no ISIEC staff was cited at any of the polling units,” they said.
