Sports Minister, John Enoh says that German tactician Bruno Labbadia walking out on the Super Eagles after he was appointed head of the team is very embarrassing and regrettable.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, announced the appointment of Labbadia only for the former Germany international to inform the media in his country a few days later that he would not manage the Super Eagles.
Enoh said he sought an explanation from the NFF over the issue.
“This was very embarrassing and regrettable,” Enoh admitted on Arise TV.
“I immediately got across to the NFF on this and asked why go public on an appointment of a coach when you have not concluded.
“Their defence is that they got a commitment from the coach on this.”
Augustine Eguavoen is currently in charge of the Super Eagles on an interim capacity.
