In July 2024, the mother of two had a repeat brain tumour surgery to save her life after she developed complications from an earlier surgery which gulped about N5 million.

Aishat Abdulhamid, Hafsat’s elder sister, who abandoned her business to care for her, said she has been sick for at least four years.

She told DAILY POST that Hafsat has been moved from the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, to the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for radiotherapy and is now looking for 3,000,000 to facilitate her treatment.

Aidshat said, “She has really suffered a lot. We have spent all our savings. Friends, family and colleagues have really tried to support us as well, Aishat said.

“She had surgery last year with the intervention of the Bauchi State Government where the tumour was evacuated and she was recovering at home but she relapsed.

“They referred us to JUTH. Where she underwent another emergency surgery and was in the ICU for months.

”They have again referred us to the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for radiotherapy

“We appeal to Nigerians to assist us. We have used up all our savings for Hafsats case”.

Hafsat who is barely able to talk or move insisted on speaking to our reporter herself.
In her own words, she said. ” I am experiencing terrible pain, am going through a brain tumour, for more than 4years, I was admitted to Jos Teaching Hospital and they removed the tumour a year ago and I had relief for a year but the disease still came back then. I was returned to Jos Teaching Hospital they inserted something in me still I have no relief. I have been transferred to the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for radiotherapy. I am looking for help and the money for treatment is N3,000,000. I beg everybody for assistance. Pls my dear brothers and sisters I need your help urgently”.

Hafsat’s family has now appealed for donations and goodwill to her bank account; 0100070850, Access Bank, Hafsat Abdulhamid Adebayo.

She can be reached on 0802 625 7016, 0903 070 6524.
