Why Senator Mudashiru Husain Remains Most Competent Choice For Osun Governorship-By Jacob Ogunseye

May 19, 2025

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke that all the efforts of his administration to muzzle the voices of the opposition would fail as it is at variance with the dictates of the democratic setting globally.

It would be recalled that the state Commissioner of Police invited the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, few days ago, based on a petition written by a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) in the state Ministry of Justice, alleging him of cyber stalking against the administration of Governor Adeleke.

The state APC chairman was invited, interviewed and promptly released.

It was ridiculous that the Adeleke and his handlers could descend into the realm of abyss by thinking that they could afford to stay in a bathroom without being wet with trickles of water.

Governor Adeleke should know that criticism is an essential ingredient of any serious democratic government which any administration that is worth its salt should express gratitude to the opposition for as history has shown that a government without a potent opposition may metamorphose into a dictatorship which is an express way to political perdition.

Is it not known to Governor Adeleke and those who are thinking for him that anything can happen during any mob action that may accompany an unguarded protest as it had been witnessed in Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Bauchi, Plateau etc under the auspices of EndBadGovernance national protest?

Should Sooko Lawal have waited till the state secretariat of the APC and the campaign office of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Office were razed before he could voice out his complaint by the way of making it a subject of a published news story?

Did Sunday Bisi, the factional chairman of the PDP, not in a statement issued by him, stated that he had an intelligence information of some members of the opposition who wanted to raze the Osun State Secretariat of the APC and hanged it on the neck of the ruling party?

It is worthwhile to ask the rotor-mouthed state PDP chairman that came up with the knowledge of the frivolous allegation of the fabricated intention of the APC members to raze their own corporate office and the Presidential Campaign Office of Tinubu/Shettima why he didn’t deem it fit to report his finding to the police until the APC came up with their own allegation?

Governor Adeleke and his cohorts should know that they have failed woefully in their autocratic and unpopular mission to gag the opposition with their frivolous petition under the guise of making a statement through cyberstalking.

A futile attempt by Governor Adeleke and his lapdogs to hit a prominent chieftain of the Osun State APC, Mr Akin Adeyi, below the belt, through a frivolous and illegal warrant of address, has underscored the level of the desperation of the focusless, purposeless and directionless PDP administration in the state whose popularity is plummeting on daily basis due to glaring fumbling and wobbling of its Chief Driver in the state.

Has Governor Adeleke and his fairweather political associates forgotten that there was no name that they did not derisively labelled the then Governor Gboyega Oyetola now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy in their diabolic desire to wrestle the government from him?

Is there any record of where the Marine and Blue Economy Minister made any fuss about the uncorrelated and unmerited aliases given to him by the Adeleke and his cohorts? Simply because former Governor Oyetola was busy and focused, he did not dignify his political traducers with any response in this regard.

It is the government that is not busy and paranoia-laden that would be entrapped with such mundane issue of hankering after who calls the Chief Driver of the state one appellation or the other. If Governor Adeleke and his men are dutifully busy, they won’t have time for such frivolous petitions as it has now become a usual practice under the administration of Governor Adeleke.

It is high time that the Adeleke government woke up from its slumber and do the needful by adding value to the collective lives of the people of the state whose high expectation of his government have been irredeemably dampened for lack of not knowing the profitable next step in the life of the administration of the PDP government in the state.
