It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of the Nigerian Amazon Onyeka Onwenu, the iconic Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress. Onyeka tragically passed away on the evening of Tuesday, July 30th, 2024.

Born on January 31, 1952, Onyeka Onwenu was more than just a musical artist; she was a cultural phenomenon. Her illustrious career spanned decades, and she touched the hearts of millions around the globe with her powerful voice and passionate performances. Onyeka’s music transcended borders, and she was celebrated for her unique blend of African rhythms and contemporary sounds. Throughout her career, she earned numerous awards and accolades, solidifying her status as one of the most influential figures in the world of music.
