In about 24 hours after the school building collapse in Jos, Plateau State which had already claimed over twenty lives, a section of a two-story residential apartment has collapsed in Kubwa, Abuja on Saturday morning.

According to report, several people have been trapped in the rubble.

It was gathered that the building located beside the popular Cupid Hotel on Cupid Road in Kubwa was formerly a hotel, Al-Hilal.

Reports says that two individuals have been rescued from the collapse building while one resident is still believed to be trapped.

A former hotel turned residential apartment building in Abuja, located beside the well-known Cupid Hotel on Cupid Road (Sultan Dasuki Way) in Kubwa, leaving several residents trapped under the debris.

 

Federal and FCT Fire Services, alongside the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), are conducting evacuation and rescue operations.

In 2022, a two-storey building shopping mall in Kubwa Abuja collapsed around 11: 25pm was said to have been caused by alterations of the building plan.
