A former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirants, Prince Dotun Babayemi and Akin Ogunbiyi and other ruling party bigwigs have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.

The event was held on Friday at the APC party secretariat in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, with thousands of their supporters and party loyalists in attendance to receive them.

Others who joined the APC today include former National Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Shuaib Oyedokun, and Faruq Abbas, the Chief of Staff to the Osun House of Assembly Speaker.

Part of the APC bigwigs present to welcome the defectors included His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, and Dr. Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the APC, and other APC political leaders in the state.

Recall that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun chapter, Sunday Bisi, revealed that Dotun Babayemi, a party chieftain, and some members were suspended following their alleged anti-party activities in the 2022 governorship election.
