Voting in the local government polls in Oyo State was marred by delays, a shortage of materials, and the absence of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) staff, leading to frustration and chaos at various polling stations.

The Reflectors Newspaper correspondents who monitored the electoral process report that at University of Ibadan (AUD) polling station, only materials for two polling units were brought, instead of the expected four, prompting voters to insist that voting cannot commence until all four units are functional.

In Ibadan North Local Government, voting was also delayed due to logistical issues, further complicating the electoral process.

The delays, materials shortage, and absence of OYSIEC staff have raised concerns about the integrity of the election, with many voters expressing worry about the outcome.

Election officials have been urged to address the issues promptly to ensure a free and fair election.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
