The trial judge, Justice, Evelyn Ayandike, admitted him to bail in the sum of N50m and two sureties in the like sum.

She ordered that the former governor should remain in the EFCC custody pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

The court also ordered Ahmed to deposit his international passport with the court’s registry.

The judge said one of the sureties must be owner of landed property within Ilorin while the original title documents of such land must be submitted to the court registry.

“Both sureties must swear to an affidavit before the court and must show evidence of payment or electricity bills in the last three months to show that they are residents in Ilorin.
