He, however, expressed gratitude that no life was lost.

“We remain grateful that in spite of the huge fire that razed down the hostel completely, no life was lost,” he said.

“SEMA is hereby directed to provide food, clothing, and beddings while the government looks for alternative accomodation for the female students,” he said.

Governor Buni charged the students and people of the state to be vigilant and avoid actions capable of causing inferno.

He said the government would look into the remote and immediate cause of the fire disaster to guard against future occurrence.

Similarly, Governor Buni has commiserated with the people of Gurujaji over the attack on the community by some intruders into the state.

He said the upscaling of security measures in the area was already yielding positive results.

“The government in collaboration with security agencies and vigilante groups, has taken more measures to ensure peace and security in the area,” he said.

He assured that no energy will be spared in pursuing the intruders, stressing “they will be pursued and defeated by the grace of God.”

The intruders were reported to have run into Gurjaji community, setting houses and food stores ablaze.

The governor has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide relief materials to the victims of the attack.
