The Coalition of Airport Businesses in Nigeria (COABIN) today expressed its full support and commendation for the recently appointed Director of Aviation Security Services at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), ACP Igbafe Albert Afegbai Rtd.

Speaking at a stakeholder meeting in Lagos, COABIN Chairman Comrade Stanley Ugwu highlighted the positive changes already witnessed across Nigerian airports since ACP Afegbai’s appointment. “The Coalition is impressed by the swift and decisive action taken by  Afegbai to enhance passenger safety and security across our airports.”

He specifically praised Afegbai’s focus on eradicating miscreant activities within airport terminals. “Our members, who operate businesses across various airports, have observed a noticeable improvement in the overall atmosphere.”

“There’s a renewed sense of safety and security, which is crucial for both passenger comfort and business confidence.”
He further commended the Afegbai’s commitment to transparency and collaboration with stakeholders. “The open communication and willingness to partner with industry players demonstrates a true understanding of the importance of a holistic approach to airport security,” said Ugwu. “This bodes well for the future of the aviation sector in Nigeria.”

The Coalition expressed its confidence in Afegbai’s leadership and pledged its continued support for his efforts to ensure the safety and security of all airport users. “COABIN believes that under  Afegbai’s guidance, Nigerian airports can achieve the highest international standards for security and efficiency,”
