The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, says reducing the cost of living and improving the living standards for Nigerians remain President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s priority.

Edun recently disclosed this during an inaugural Nigeria Customs Service Board meeting in Abuja.

The Minister outlined a three-fold vision to redefine the nation’s economic landscape trajectory.

According to him, the federal government is committed to implementing measures to ease financial burdens and elevate the living standards of every citizen.

“Today marks a pivotal moment in our pursuit of economic resilience, and we are seeking substantial augmentation of government funds to propel crucial initiatives, ensuring that the wheels of progress turn unhindered.

“The President will be briefed comprehensively on our vision to lower the cost of living for Nigerians through making rich efforts to facilitate trade and boost our economy.

“We aim to implement measures that not only ease financial burdens but also elevate the living standards of every citizen.

“We are on the verge of transformative change in trade facilitation. Our commitment is unwavering, and we are poised to implement the National Single Window project—a community-driven initiative that promises to revolutionize Customs procedures,” the Minister stated.

DAILY POST recalls that President Tinubu appointed two Nigerians, Dr Aba Ibrahim and Dr Muda Yusuf, to serve as NCS board members in November.

The development comes after the President approved the confirmation of Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller General of NCS in October.
