The Action Alliance (AA) has dispelled claims that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja gave recognition to one Kenneth Udeze as the national chairman of the party, declaring that Dr Adekunle Rufai Omoaje remains the only authentic and recognized national chairman of the party.

Reacting to a newspaper publication where it was reported that the Federal High court sitting in Abuja held that Udeze is the national chairman of the party, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Olu Omotoso said Omoaje is the only recognized National chairman of the AA.

In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olu Omotoso, the newspaper publication was misleading, selling the wrong signal to the public and also causing disaffection within the party.

He recalled that the Court of Appeal had pronounced Dr. Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the only recognized chairman of the party and that all relevant stakeholders including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other agencies of government have since given proper and necessary recognition to Omoaje.

He said Udeze has since been suspended and subsequently expelled from the party and various courts of competent jurisdiction have upheld the decision of the party.

He mentioned that the Court of Appeal, Abuja division had held that Dr Omoaje is the authentic national chairman of the Action Alliance and therefore expressed surprise on how a Federal High court will overturn the decision of the higher court.

Describing the claim that the leadership tussle in the party was settled by the ruling of the Federal High Court as a misrepresentation, the party image maker said the case before the court was not about a leadership crisis.

He noted that the report published by the newspaper was not balanced but sponsored to sweeten the interest of the sponsor, as the report was full of fallacies and lies.

“It should be known that the Appeal Court had since settled the leadership tussle against the claim of the newspaper. The interpretation given by the journalist who wrote the news was completely off the point. It was a total misrepresentation of the judgment.

“The journalist claimed that the FCT High Court had pronounced Kenneth Udeze as the authentic Chairman of Action Alliance, whereas it’s never so. My question is, can the FCT High Court overturn the decisions of the Court of Appeal on two different occasions?” he queried.
