Progressives e-Group (the number one online media platform in Osun) said it has noted with great concern, the unusual silence and hypocritical calmness by most of the major stakeholders in Osun about the location and whereabouts of executive Governor of Osun State – His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke in the State of the Living Spring for almost a month now.
It would be recalled that Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke was last seen officially either physically or virtually on Saturday, 11th November, 2023 when he attended the coronation ceremony of Sen. Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla of Osun Central Senatorial District as Bobamofin of Ondo Kingdom in the ancient city of Ondo, Ondo State. Since then, Senator Adeleke has not only become incommunicado but also invisible.
Curiously, exactly two weeks after his disappearance was becoming more obvious, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor – Mallam Olawale Rasheed released a statement on 25th November, 2023 to inform Osun people that Governor Ademola Adeleke is out of the State for a working visit to Europe on behalf of the State. The events since November 25th have shown that the CPS is either hiding under one finger or playing to the gallery or both.
In this digital age where nothing is hidden anywhere in the world again especially among political office holders, Senator Ademola Adeleke will be the first Governor in recent time that will travel abroad on a supposedly working visit and 10 days after, no images or footages of him with any investor, diplomat or development partners. Even, all the social media handles of Senator Adeleke “man Friday”, Mr. Dele Momodu don’t have anything to show about Mr. Governor for the past three weeks unlike before.
Despite the many serious issues that require the personal and physical attention of the number one citizen of the State for the past three week in Osun but which he is nowhere to be found, it is sickening and saddening that most of the major stakeholders like Osun State House of Assembly, communities leaders, religious leaders, civil society organizations, political parties among others just kept quiet and less worried as if Osun State deserves to be on auto pilot with no end in sight.
As a good governance conscious organisation, we call on the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Barr. Kolapo Alimi to release a statement with a sworn affidavit without a further delay about the factual location and whereabouts of Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke as the earlier release by Mallam Olawale Rasheed has been confined to the dustbin of deception where it rightly belongs to. Osun people voted for somebody they want to be seen regularly and not for appearing as well as disappearing person. So, we ask again, where is Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke??
Progressives e-Group,
… truly in support of good governance.
