Access Bank Invests In Renewable Energy To Enhance Electricity In Nigeria

One of the most viable commercial banks in Nigeria, the Access Bank have reiterated its commitment to supporting the renewable energy project in Nigeria by granting legitimate loans to the sector to further boost electricity supply in Nigeria.

This was indicated penultimately at a two-day stakeholders’ consultative forum on unlocking low-cost capital for grid-connected renewable energy investment in Nigeria organized by UNDP/GEF in Lagos.

According to Mr. Gbenga Adeleke, Head of risk Management Department at Access Bank, and a strong voice in the energy sector, he said that, Access Bank in collaboration with CBN and other stakeholders have established the Solarnaija Project as part of its strong commitment to invest in solar energy, in consonance with the Paris Agreement to cut Co2 emission for a better world.

Access Bank has also through innovations provided Green bond to finance climate change with a portion dedicated to renewable energy assets.

Adeleke said that, Access Bank is undoubtedly commited to climate neutral economy while ascertaining the bank’s believe that, cost reflective power pricing regime will de-risk grid renewable energy and drive viability of the project.
