PDP knocks APC for denying releasing timetable for Congresses, National Convention

*… Says ‘caretaker party’ has lost focus*

In apparent reaction to a purported volte-face by the ruling APC denying ever releasing time table for congresses and national convention, the PDP has knocked the APC for taking Nigerians for a ride knowing fully well that it has failed the Nigerian people in all spheres of human and social indices.

Recall that the APC has released the party’s timetable for congresses and national convention and published in virtually in all Nigerian newspapers on Monday 17th May 2021
But the party in a swift reaction, denied the earlier press statement saying it was the handiwork of political jobbers.

According to John Akpanudoedehe, National Secretary APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC)

“Our attention has been drawn to obviously coordinated and syndicated misinformation being circulated in some sections of the media on purported plans and timetable for Congresses and National Convention of the APC.

“This is the handiwork of political jobbers parading themselves as media sources.

“The media, party members and indeed the general public should be wary and completely disregard the misinformation, antics and schemes of these fifth columnists,’’ Akpanudoedehe said.

He said the APC had never lied about its activities and had no reason to lie.

However, in a counter reaction, the office of South West PDP Zonal publicity Secretary Chief Sanya Atofarati, has described the subsequent denial by the APC as regrettable and disastrous.

His words: “It is regrettable that a party that prides itself as democratic is afraid of organising congresses and national convention in any part of the country as the affairs of the party had been firmly under the control of caretaker committee for more than a year now.

“The point is that the APC house of lies will soon be exposed in the days to come as the centrifugal forces of incongruities in the party and various tendencies will prove the lie in their spurious lame excuse”

Continuing, the PDP spokesperson then urged the ruling party to learn a word or two from the PDP on how to run a political organization
“The PDP has laid the foundation for effective party organization as a truly democratic party in Nigeria which the APC can take a cue from”.
