Shehu Sani Lied Over Party Primaries, Forged My Signature – Hon Ali
An aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Kaduna South on the platform of APC, Yusuf Ali, has dissociated himself from the campaign embarked upon by Senator Shehu Sani for the conduct for direct primary election in Kaduna State.
The aspirant made the allegation in Kaduna in a media statement.
Ali said he was not consulted when Senator Sani compiled a list of those purported to have endorsed the direct primaries, which contains his name and signature.
“It has become imperative to set the record straight. I have not been invited nor attended any meeting called by Shehu Sani on direct primaries, yet to my greatest surprise, a list bearing my name and purported signature in support of direct primaries in Kaduna State APC is in circulation.”
“I am utterly surprised that Senator Sani in his desperation has resorted to such an undemocratic practice to further his own personal agenda. I couldn’t remember anytime that he called a meeting of his constituents in Kaduna Central Senatorial District to discuss any national or political issue, yet he now has the guts to concoct a kangaroo committee of politicians to endorse his own personal agenda using fictitious signatures,” he said.
Ali said, as a loyal party member of the APC, he abides by the decision of the party to conduct indirect primaries in Kaduna State because he strongly believes in the supremacy of the party organs and the ability of the delegates to be fair to all aspirants.
He therefore urges his supporters and the APC in Kaduna State to disregard the inclusion of his name in the list being circulated by the political camp of Shehu Sani as proponents of the direct primaries.
“The antics of Shehu Sani depict a sinking politician who can hold unto anything including a snake to prevent himself from drowning,” he said.
