Osun Election: APC Chieftain, Peter Babalola Defects To PDP With Scores Of Supporters


The wave of defection currently hitting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has swept Irewole local government area as the APC Chieftain, his loyalist, Dr. Peter Babalola and scores of other members that left the party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The welcome ceremony which was held at PDP Party Secretariat, Osogbo was graced by chieftains of the PDP in Osun state under the leadership of Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo and the State working committee. Other dignitaries at the program includes; Sen. Ademola Adeleke, Hon. Albert Adeogun, Alh. Shuaib Oyedokun, Hon. Diran Odeyemi, Hon. Sanya Omiran, Alh. Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa, Hon. Jide Jooda, Alh. Fatai Diekola among others.


Speaking, Director General, Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organization, Akogun Lere Oyewumi congratulated Elder Peter Babalola and his teeming supporters over what he saw as a bold and courageous decision to quit a failed party, the APC. He also assured the APC decampees to the PDP that they would be accorded equal treatment by the party. He commended the Party Chairman, State working committee and the entire members for its mass mobilisation which would lead to PDP victory in the gubernitorial election. He said the massive turnout at the event has reinforced the loyalty of Osun people to PDP. Osun masses were determined to deliver 2018 gubernitorial and 2019 general elections.
