APC UK Backs Osinbajo Over Removal Of DSS DG Lawal Daura

The removal of the Director General of Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Lawal Daura by the Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been described as a timely and right step in strengthening the democratic tenets of the nation.

This was the submission of the All Progressives Congress in the United Kingdom in their reaction following the scenario that unfolded at the premises of the National Assembly where supposed masked men of the DSS, acting on un-cleared authority, blocked some lawmakers from entering the chamber for their legislative business.

According to the statement signed by the Spokesman of the party in the country, Mr Jacob Ogunseye, the removal came at the right time most especially at this crucial time when elections are a few months away.

Mr Ade Omole, a chieftain of the party, reiterated, “The undemocratic action irrespective of the motive is absolutely not part of our great party and therefore, the party would never have been part of the orchestrated plan to block the entrance to the national assembly.

The statement described the Acting President as bold, strong and worthy of representing his principal in taking the desired decision. “Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has shown his stuff, a bold and intelligent leader that follows the pursuit of perfection in putting the Country on the right path. Omole said.

The statement noted that the removal of Mr Daura could not have been effective if President Muhammadu Buhari had not given his support. “In fact, it is now very clear that the combination of the two men at the helm of affairs has put Nigeria on the pedestal of strength.

“The synergy of efforts shows that we are now stronger as a Country, President Buhari deserve the accolades, he is a man of his words, a father and leader to the core, we are quite delighted at the hand in glove working relationship between Buhari and Osinbajo, definitely the next four years will be great for our party, the APC and the Country at large.

Ogunseye advised international communities to be wary of their reactions most especially on the domestic affairs of other sovereign countries. “It is pertinent to remind international communities that Nigeria is a sovereign country and diplomats should be careful and guided when interfering in domestic affairs. Making categorical statement on domestic issues affecting any nation should be guided by accurate information and the standards of such”.

“We want to reiterate our unwavering support as an organ of the governing party in the Diaspora and assure Nigerians that APC-led government under the leadership of President Buhari will not relent in the continuation of delivering on its promises and people-oriented solutions as it has been doing”, the statement added.
