Coutinho, Liverpool Reach Agreement Over Barcelona January Transfer

Philippe Coutinho has reached an agreement with Liverpool that will see him complete his dream move to Barcelona in January, according to reports in Spain.

The Brazil international was earmarked as one of Ernesto Valverde’s main transfer priorities during the summer, but Liverpool refused to countenance selling their star player.

The Premier League club insisted the former Inter playmaker was not for sale at any price, but Barcelona subsequently claimed Liverpool would have relented had an offer of £183million been tabled

Coutinho missed the start of the Premier League season through injury but since his return he has scored three goals in his last three games, underlining his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The 25-year-old, however, has not given up on moving to Camp Nou and Mundo Deportivo now claim Liverpool are willing to sell when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

Last week, the same Catalan-based outlet reported that Barcelona were ready to test the Reds’ resolve again with an €80 million (£71m) payment up front with another €30m (£26.5m) in add-ons
