Senator Biodun Olujimi and Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirants in Ekiti have condemned Governor Ayodele Fayose’s endorsement of his deputy, Kolapo Olusola, to succeed him.
Senator Olujimi, who represents Ekiti South Senatorial District, told Channels Television that the adoption of Olusola as the sole governorship candidate of the PDP for the 2018 election is a charade which will not stand the test of time.
She called on the National Caretaker Committee of the PDP, led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, to intervene in the matter before it is too late.
“The party has a constitution and it must be followed. I will describe yesterday’s adoption by some members of our party as a child’s play. We shall all contest in the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State,” Senator Olujimi said.
“The leadership of our party will look in to this development to avoid more problems in the state.”
On their part, some governorship aspirants of the party led by the former minister of state for works Dayo Adeyeye, former commissioner and attorney general Owoseni Ajayi, Ambassador Dare Dejide and others want the leadership of the party to call Governor Fayose to order, as his actions currently portends danger for the party in the state.
