Google truly does want to be all things to all people, including travellers.

The tech titan can now help you to save money when you are planning a trip courtesy of its latest updates to its Flight and Hotel search tools.

“Being flexible on travel dates and where to stay helps save money when planning a trip—so now we’re adding more ways to explore dates, airports and hotel locations to help you save when you have a bit of wiggle room in your itinerary,” reads a Google blog post.

“In order to make flight prices—and potential savings—easier to find for a wide range of dates, we’ve added more price insights to Google Flights.”

To access the savings, simply tap on ‘dates’ to access the calendar view of date combinations. The lowest prices are highlighted in green and the most expensive in red. Those with a particular length of trip in mind, can view how airfare varies over time with a simple swipe to the left.

Using the hotel search tool, users can now see the nightly rate in the calendar view or even check out price trends for a hotel to see how the rates change over time.

Google also shows hotel prices on a map, enabling users to more easily identify the best hotels for both their budget and plans.

“You may find that a hotel just around the corner from a museum you’re interested in is available at a great price,” the blog post reads.

The insights are now available on mobile and will roll out on desktop later this year.
