Kaduna Security Council has condemned the circulation of disturbing images and calls for reprisals to avenge attacks that recently took place in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
Its 20th meeting was held in Kaduna, North west Nigeria, and was chaired by Governor Nasiru El-Rufa’i.
The Garrison Commander, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna; Base Commander of the Nigerian Air Force; Director, DSS Kaduna State; State Commissioner of Police and heads of other security agencies operating in the state, briefed the governor on the security situation.
The Security Council reviewed the security situation in Birnin Gwari, Southern Kaduna, Kaduna-Abuja Road and Zaria-Kubau-Giwa axis with plans to enhancing security in the areas.
Governor El-Rufai expressed concern over the massive circulation of disturbing images from recent violence that erupted in Kajuru Local Government Area.
“It is clear that those circulating these inciting images are hell- bent on deepening the unfortunate incidence that occurred last month,” he stressed.
“Hence, it is on this premise that the Security Council wishes to inform families, relations, associates and friends of the victims of government’s decisions to handle the problems,” he emphasized.
The council assured them that some suspects linked to the unfortunate incident had been arrested and presently undergoing investigation, while some have been arraigned for prosecution.
It noted that security agencies were also making remarkable progress in trailing suspects still at large, adding that, Governor El-Rufai was pursuing the matter with a deep sense of justice and sanctity of human life.
