The Potters made the announcement via their twitter handle.
“Stoke City are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian international Oghenekaro Peter Etebo on a five-year contract The 22-year-old midfielder joins the Potters from Portuguese side Feirense for a fee of €7.2million,” the club said.
Etebo is key member of the Super Eagles currently heading to Russia for the FIFA World Cup.
The former Warri Wolves combative midfielder played for Portuguese club side Feirense.
He spent six months on loan at Spanish La Liga side Las Palmas, where he was a regular despite the club being relegated at the end of the season.
Etebo shot into international prominence after emerging the CAF Champions player of the year in 2015 when he led Nigeria’s U-23 team to victory.
A year later, Etebo gained more prominence when he scored four goals for Nigeria in the opening match of the 2016 Rio Olympics football football event against Japan, an event Nigeria came third.
