Cab Driver Set Okada Rider Ablaze In Okitipupa

An Okada rider, Aminu Musa has met his untimely death after a commercial cab driver (names with held) set him ablaze during a minor argument along Surulere Street, Okitipupa last Thursday.

According to the source who pleaded anonymity, trouble started when the driver accused Musa who was on a stationary motorcycle with a passenger of causing obstruction

“A hot argument ensued between the two of them. In the course of the argument, the driver who became furious opened the boot of his vehicle, brought out a keg of petrol, poured its content on the duo and ignited fire,” the source said.

He added that the passenger managed to escape while Musa sustained serious burnt

Musa was initially treated at the Trauma Centre, Ondo and was later referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OUATH), Ile Ife

It was however gathered that his people withdrew him to his home place at Sokoto where he gave up the ghost yesterday

Meanwhile, the suspect is the guest of the police at the Divisional Headquarters, Okitipupa while investigation into the matter continues, a police inside source confided.
