APGA's Victor Umeh Wins Anambra Central Senatorial Poll

Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA has been declared winner of the Anambra central senatorial district election conducted yesterday in the area.

The Returning Officer for the election who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Esimone announced this in the early hours of today, at the INEC headquarter Awka after Collation of all the results from the area .

Announcing the results, Professor Esimone said that having scored a total of sixty-four thousand, eight hundred and seventy nine , out of sixty seven thousand seven hundred and ten votes being the total number of votes cast, to clinch the first position Chief Umeh swept the polls in all the council areas.

Fifteen parties contested for the post but APGA took the first position.

The result was announced in the presence of three Resident Electoral Officers including the Resident Electoral Officer for Anambra state Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, election observers security agencies among others.
