84 Students Gets Cash Award For Academic Excellence In Anambra

Education presents a necessary condition for societal development.

This is the stand of a Community leader in Okija, Chief Obidon Onujiogu, during a forum on Education in the area.

Chief Onujiogu noted that for any society to develop meaningfully, stakeholders must join hands in the promotion of education through encouragement for academic excellence among pupils and students.

He contended that time has gone when education was mainly for the well to do.

Chief Onujiogu, an indigene of Umuohi- Okija, said that no investment in education is a waste and praised Governor Willie Obiano's giant strides in the state Education Sector, which, he said, needed massive support of the masses.

Also speaking, an Educationist in the area, Lady Bene Nwanekezi said such forum would go a long way in promoting academic excellence among the people.

Presentation of certificates of academic excellence and cash awards to over eighty-four pupils of primary schools in Umuohi Okija for their outstanding performances in their various classes was the highpoint on the forum.
